All Stars Announced!
The votes are in and the Legends are going to need to watch their backs. The 2015 All Stars are going to be a tough team to beat. The roster is as follows:
Line 1
Forward: Cody Saunders (Kings) & Jacob Holloway (Cyclones)
Defense: Derek Orne (Cyclones) & Maurice Ducharme (Jets)
Line 2
Forward: Richmond Fillion (Jets) & Morgan Hobbs (Sharks)
Defense: Walker Hobbs (Sharks)(Injured) & Connor Logan (Kings)
Goaltender: Aaron Lagimodiere (Kings)
Nominees (Substitutions):
Brandan Martel (Kings) - 1st Period
Seth Henderson (Jets) - 2nd Period
Dylan Gagnon (Cyclones) - 3rd Period
The All Star roster is headlined by Damascus Division leading scorer, Cody Saunders. Saunders leads the league with 72 points, which is 18 better than the next closest player. Playing along side him is the Cyclones' Jacob Holloway. Holloway is the Cyclones' ironman who has only missed 2 games in the last 3 years, and hasn't missed one since April 2, 2012. Holloway leads his team with 27 points. Jets' leading scorer, Richmond Fillion (54 points), and Sharks' franchise player, Morgan Hobbs (38 points), pair up to make a solid 2nd line balanced with speed, skill and finish.
On the backend the Cyclones' Derek Orne steps into that number one role. Orne has added increased stability to the Cyclones defense since moving over from the Jets this summer as a free agent. Paired up beside him is the Jets' Maurice Ducharme. Ducharme missed part of the season but hasn't missed a beat since returning. Currently with 30 points in 7 games, he holds the 2nd best Points Per Game average in the league. The 2nd line feature another of the league's premier defensemen, the Kings' Connor Logan. Logan has been the Kings' number one shut down defenseman, but has upped his game this year to include 10 goals & 19 points. Logan has become a versitile player for the Kings this year, not only frustrating opponents in his own zone but also frustrating opposing goalies while standing in front on the power play. Rounding out the d-pairings in the Sharks' Walker Hobbs. Hobbs has done well in his first year with the Sharks, logging major minutes on the blueline. Unfortunately, due to a undisclosed lower-body injury, Hobbs will be unable to compete in the All Star Game. Taking his place will be a combination of three players who were nominated by their respective teams, Brandan Martel (Kings), Seth Henderson (Jets) & Dylan Gagnon (Cyclones). Each will be playing a period in replacement of Hobbs.
